EXTENSION FOR EXPERIMENT 2

HI ALL, FOLLOWING THE STUDENT REP MEETING FOR ARCH1101 YESTERDAY I WOULD LIKE TO ADVISE YOU ALL THAT THERE WILL BE AN EXTENSION TO THE EXPERIMENT 2 HAND IN.

THE NEW DUE DATE IS MONDAY MAY 4 BY 9PM.

THIS EXTENSION WAS GRANTED IN PART TO ENSURE THAT YOU WILL ATTEND YOUR LECTURES FOR ARCH1101 AND ARCH1601 (ENVIRONMENT 1) ON THE LEAD UP TO YOUR MAJOR HISTORY ASSIGNMENT WHICH IS DUE THIS THURSDAY. THERE ARE A NUMBER OF STUDENTS IN THE CLASS THAT FEEL THAT THE EXTENSION HAS UNDERMINED THEIR TIME MANAGEMENT EFFORTS IN THIS EXPERIMENT AND I SINCERELY APOLOGIZE TO THEM FOR THAT. WHILE THIS IS ONE OF THOSE OCCASIONS, IT IS RARE THAT WE ARE ABLE TO OFFER EXTENSIONS AND IN PRACTICE EXTENSIONS OF TIME HAVE SERIOUS COST IMPLICATIONS. DEVELOPING STRONG TIME MANAGEMENT SKILLS IS ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL FOR YOUR LONG TERM SUCCESS IN ARCHITECTURE, THE 'TASKS FOR TODAY', 'INDEPENDENT STUDY' AND LECTURE TASKS ARE DESIGNED TO PROMOTE THE CONSISTENCY OF YOUR PRODUCTION SO THAT OVERWHELMING RUSHES AT THE END CAN BE AVOIDED. THE BEST ADVICE I CAN GIVE ABOUT TIME MANAGEMENT IS TO KEEP UP WITH THOSE.

OTHER OPTIONS CAN BE FOUND IF YOU TAKE A LOOK AT THE UNSW LEARNING CENTER PAGE:

http://www.lc.unsw.edu.au/

AND THE COUNSELING SERVICE HAS SOME GREAT STUFF TOO (IN FACT WE'VE JUST MISSED THE TIME MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP, FOR THIS SEMESTER, WHICH WAS LAST WEEK).

I WILL BE INTRODUCING EXPERIMENT 3, AS TIMETABLED, THIS THURSDAY AND EXPECT TO SEE YOU ALL THERE.
