ADVICE FOR THURSDAYS HAND-IN

HI EVERYONE, WE HAD A PRODUCTIVE CLASS REP MEETING TODAY.

THERE WERE A FEW CONCERNS RAISED ABOUT THINGS LIKE FINDING ONLINE RESOURCES, COMMUNICATION BETWEEN COURSES, SOME VERY SHORT LECTURES AND ADVICE FROM TUTORS.

ONE THING I PROMISED TO DO STRAIGHT AWAY WAS TO WRITE DOWN A FEW TIPS TO HELP YOU WITH YOUR SUBMISSION ON THURSDAY.

THESE TIPS ARE NOT FOR WHAT YOU SHOULD DO: THAT'S WHAT THE WHOLE COURSE IS ABOUT ...

THESE TIPS ARE WHAT YOU SHOULD AVOID: THE COMMON MISTAKES THAT STUDENTS MAKE THAT END UP COSTING THEM MARKS.

1. IF IN DOUBT CHECK THE BRIEF (THE ABSOLUTE FACTS ABOUT THE ASSESSMENT ARE THERE, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE EVERYTHING).
2. WE WILL BE MARKING EVERYTHING FROM YOUR BLOG, SO MAKE SURE THE SCANS YOU TAKE OF YOUR DRAWS LOOK GOOD WHEN THEY ARE UPLOADED (BLURRY IMAGES ARE BAD).
3. DON'T ADJUST THE BRIGHTNESS AND CONTRAST OF YOUR DRAWINGS TO GET THEM PERFECTLY BLACK AND WHITE. THEY END UP LOOKING REALLY FAKE .... THEY ARE HAND DRAWINGS AND WILL SHOW IMPERFECTIONS, THAT'S A PART OF WHAT MAKES THEM SPECIAL.
4. HAND IN IS 1:30PM, AFTER THAT TIME IT IS LATE.
5. CORRECT SPELLING AND GRAMMAR: ARCHITECTURE IS A PROFESSION, WHICH MEANS YOU NEED TO PRACTICE BEING PROFESSIONAL. CORRECT SPELLING AND GRAMMAR IS EASY TO CHECK, AND MAKES YOU SEEM VERY LAZY IF YOU HAVE MISTAKES.
6. WRITE SHORT CAPTIONS UNDER CRITICAL IMAGES, TELL US WHAT WE SHOULD NOTICE IN PARTICULAR (SUCH AS WHO THE SPACE IS DESIGNED FOR).
7. DOUBLE CHECK YOUR LINKS TO GOOGLE WAREHOUSE (GET YOUR FRIENDS TO SEE IF THE LINKS WORK ON THEIR COMPUTERS).
8. KEEP YOUR ANIMATIONS SIMPLE. 10 SECONDS DOESN'T SOUND LIKE A LONG TIME BUT TRY NOT TO RUSH YOUR ANIMATIONS. EACH ANIMATION ONLY NEEDS TO SHOW ONE THING. ANIMATIONS THAT SPEED ALL OVER THE PLACE END UP NOT SHOWING ANYTHING WELL.
9. DON'T SHOW THE SAME VIEW 10 TIMES.
